Hello Folks,

My name is Rodrigo (he/him) and I am a certified Adaptive Yoga Teacher.

A few years ago I had a fall accident and I broke my back, so due to that I am now a full-time wheelchair user and I have a complete t3 spinal cord injury.

I have been practicing yoga before my accident but got deep into it after my injury.

I have used Adaptive Yoga to get my body moving but more importantly to help me deal with the secondary conditions of Spinal Cord Injury such as muscle spasticity, nerve chronic pain, tightness, anxiety, and so on.

It has helped me so much that I decided to educate myself and become a teacher and found Allihopa Yoga, a virtual yoga studio for folks who have experienced trauma & disability.

Today I would like to invite you to take one of my classes and see for yourself if Adaptive Yoga is something you like.

My classes are down-to-earth, accessible, and deeply nourishing, focusing on useful ways to move and breathe.  A typical class will include body awareness, breathing techniques, preparing the joints, mindful slow flowing movements & postures, meditation, and relaxation.

If you happen to be in a wheelchair or have some kind of disability, maybe this is a good opportunity for you to get consciously moving and more connected to your deeper self.

If you live in a non-disabled body, this class can also be for you, we don’t exclude or discriminate against anyone, you will only need a chair ðŸª‘😉

The seated adaptive classes are gentle and suitable for beginners, and it is combined with mindfulness exercises based on gratitude, self-love, and compassion.

Hope to see you soon.
